MEET THE ATTORNEY

ALMA WALLS, esq.

Personal Injury Attorney

Alma Walls

Attorney Alma Walls’ experience in the insurance/legal field began in 1986 with a major insurance company where she worked as a bodily injury specialist handling personal injury and wrongful death claims. The company’s insurance school trained her in insurance policy interpretation, investigation of an accident to determine liability, evaluation of an injured person’s medical specials to determine the value of the injury, and negotiation strategies.  She “jumped the fence” from the insurance company - twelve and a half years later - to become an attorney and use her insurance training and expertise to represent victims who have been injured.

Ms. Walls was born and raised with the values and culture of north Mississippi.  She received Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Degrees in Business Education from Delta State University, and spent the next ten years teaching Business Education to high school and university students prior to entering corporate America.  Ms. Walls earned her Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School, South Royalton, Vermont in 2001.  While a student in law school, she worked as a Legal Intern for a plaintiff firm researching and investigating various insurance and mass tort litigation issues.  She also worked as a summer intern at Louisiana Acorn Fair Housing, Inc., New Orleans, LA, researching and filing challenges to discriminatory practices implemented by landlords and banks.

Upon graduating from law school, she worked for a plaintiff firm and was responsible for maintaining over 5,000 claims involving complex mass tort litigation issues involving burial and life insurance policies.  In 2002, Ms. Walls formed Walls Law Firm, PLLC.  Since being admitted to the Mississippi Bar, she has represented hundreds of injured people to get the compensation they deserve. Knowing the insurance industry from both sides — the defense and plaintiff’s claims — gives her an edge.  She knows how the insurance industry thinks and works, and uses that knowledge to achieve good settlements for her clients.  If Ms. Walls doesn’t reach a settlement, she will file a lawsuit on your behalf.

Licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Mississippi, she is a member of the State Bar of Mississippi, the Coahoma County Bar Association, the Mississippi Association for Justice and serves on the Board of Governors, the National Bar Association, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.  She has received the 2013 Board of Director Award for Dedicated Services by the  Clarksdale/Coahoma County Industrial Foundation, the 2009 Board of Director Award for Dedicated Services by the Clarksdale/Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce, the 2006 Clarksdale Citizen of the Year Award presented by Alpha Phi Alpha, the 1984 Teacher Appreciation Award presented by Leake County Association of Educators, the 1983-84 Star Teacher Award presented by The Mississippi Economic Council – The State Chamber of Commerce to honor an outstanding teacher influential in shaping the life of the school’s Star Student who leads his/her graduating class in scholastic achievement, the 1983-84 Teacher of the Year Award presented by South Leake High School, and the 1982-83 Star Teacher Award presented by The Mississippi Economic Council – The State Chamber of Commerce.

Ms. Walls is a member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. In the community, Ms. Walls serves as a career day participant for area schools, is a sponsor for high school students from Youth Leadership by Clarksdale/Coahoma County Chamber of Commerce, sponsor of high school students from the Clarksdale Municipal School District and the Coahoma County School District for Career & Technology Day, worksite sponsor for the Youth Employment Program of the Delta Workforce Investment area by Coahoma Community College, and has been an Advocate Sponsor for the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project.
